Perhaps all of us know how damaging Coke is for our health. It doesn’t bring any benefits to our body – in fact, it destroys our health. Nowadays we can rarely meet people who have the courage, or rather are thoughtless enough, to drink Coke every day. On the other hand, it is still worth having a bottle of Coke at home, not to drink it, but to use it in more useful ways.
1. It defrosts the windshield
If there is a thin layer of ice formed on the windshield of your car, you can use Coke to speed up the defrosting process. Pour a small bottle of Coke on the windshield and allow it to act for several minutes.
2. It soothes pain and itching caused by insect stings and bites
Coke helps soothing the pain if you have been bitten by bees, mosquitoes or even jellyfish. If you don’t have medication at hand, simply try using Coke on the affected area. The pain and itching will disappear soon.
3. It cleans glass
Coke contains citric acid, so it can clean any glass surface very well. Just make sure to wipe the glass with a clean and wet cloth after using Coke, otherwise the surface will become sticky.
4. It removes unpleasant odors
To get rid of unpleasant odors such as that of a polecat, you can use Coke and some soap dissolved in a bucket of water. For an even better effect, add hydrogen peroxide and baking soda. If the smell remains on the skin, wipe the area off with a sponge soaked in Coke after you take a shower.
5. It removes bubble gum stuck in hair
Coke comes helpful if you need to remove bubble gum stuck into your hair. Soak your hair through with Coke, leave it on for several minutes and remove the bubble gum very carefully. The process is somewhat messy, but at least you won’t need to cut your hair.
6. It removes rust
To clean rusted metal surfaces, all you need to do is pour some Coke on the surface, leave it on overnight and clean it off in the morning. The acidic drink will remove rust easily. To clean chrome surfaces, soak a sponge or a piece of cloth in Coke and wipe off the surface.
7. It removes stains
Coke is a cheap solution to remove stains from clothing. All you need to do is pour some Coke on the stains and allow the liquid to soak in the textile. After that, wash the piece of clothing as usual. Coke removes even fat and blood residues.
8. It cleans the toilet bowl
If you pour a bottle of Coke in the toilet bowl, the cleaning process will become much easier.
