Ingredients

For the batter

  • 3 eggs
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1/2 bar unsalted melted butter
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup flour

For the filling

  • 2 cups cream
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Preparation

First of all, cut out 17 circles from paper, number them and make rainbow colored hearts. You can see the procedure in the video. Mix the paints and start preparing the cake. If possible, try to find natural coloring.

Add the sugar to the eggs and mix them well, and then add the melted butter, the oil and the milk. Gradually mix in the flour as well, and smooth out the lumps. Pour a small amount of oil into a frying pan, and fry the crepes. This will take some time, but it’s worth it, as the result is going to be a very showy and delicious crêpe cake.

To gain time, you can use two frying pans at once.

When you’re done, cut off the margins of the crepes with a cookie-cutter, and then start stacking them on top of each other, adding layers of cream between the slices.

Starting with the third crêpe from the bottom begin to follow the video, as your job becomes tricky from here on. What you will have to do is to use the paper circles and powdered sugar to paint colorful dots, as this is what will create the heart shape at the end. From the sixth crepe on, you will need a bag with a hole to squeeze out the cream easier. After stacking all the crepes, you will decorate the cake with the aid of the same bag.

When you’re ready, you can place the cake into the fridge for a short while.
