Hydrophobic means the water repellent quality of a material. In chemistry, the notion refers to substances that don’t mix with water at all, or in a very limited manner. An example is that of apolar covalent bonds, especially oils. In the following two videos, a very interesting property of hydrophobic substance is depicted.
