Because of a very special set of attributes, a huge cave system in China has its own cloud formation.
Because of its isolation and huge size, the Er Wang Dong cave system in China has its own climate.
As Robbie Shone photographer explains, weather can get into the cave, but it can’t get out from there. The reason for this is the unique symmetry of the cave system: there are numerous bigger or smaller holes on the floor of the caves, but higher up the system has only one opening. The result is that enough moisture is trapped inside the caves for clouds to be formed.
