Baked Parmesan tomatoes

Fresh garden tomatoes are soon going to appear on the market. Right now, you might have a few almost ripe tomatoes in your garden, but you will probably need to wait for a few more weeks until you can eat tomatoes to your heart’s desire. There is nothing tastier than sun-dried, juicy homegrown tomatoes, and the recipe below is simply amazing.

If you feel like having a snack in the evening, you might as well eat something healthy. Baked tomatoes are really tasty and wholesome, so you can munch them even while watching TV. What you need is tomatoes, as many as possible, grated cheese or Parmesan, oregano, basil and a little olive oil.

Choose larger tomatoes, wash them, cut them in halves and place them in a baking pan with their cut side up. Sprinkle them with cheese or grated Parmesan, finely chopped fresh basil and oregano as well as some salt, and pour half a teaspoon of olive oil on each half tomato. Bake the seasoned tomatoes for about 15 minutes in a preheated oven.

Baked tomatoes can be eaten cold or hot. They are very tasty and contain few calories: half a tomato has only about 90 cal. This recipe might easily become your favorite of the summer.
