Are you afraid of spiders? You don’t need to be. Most spiders are harmless, even though they may look a little scary. If you still want to keep them away, you can use some harmless but efficient natural methods.
1. Peppermint oil and dishwasher detergent
Dissolve 1 teaspoon of liquid detergent and 1 teaspoon of peppermint oil in 300 ml water. Mix well and pour into a spray bottle. Your natural home-made spider repellent is ready.
Spiders hate the scent of cinnamon. Place cinnamon stick in places they visit frequently, and no spider will bother you anymore.
Another great solution to use against spiders is mint essential oil; dip a cotton pad in the oil, and swab nooks and corners where spiders like to hide. Mint essential oil doubles as a great air freshener.
Chestnuts are effective because they contain a substance to which spiders are sensitive, so they avoid even the areas where chestnuts are placed.
5. Salt water
You can also chase away spiders with salt water. Mix thoroughly 500 ml water and 100 grams of salt, pour into a spray bottle and spray directly on spiders.
6. White vinegar
Spiders hate the smell of vinegar as much as that of cinnamon. Dissolve 100 ml vinegar in water and spray on spiders.
7. Citrus peels
Find out where spiders prefer to hide in your house, and place the citrus peel in those areas to chase them away.
8. Cedar clothes hangers
If you want to make sure your wardrobe is safe from spiders, use cedar hangers.
9. Coconut Oil
Coconut oil is probably one of the most surprising spider repellents. Mix coconut oil and water in a ratio of 1/3 to 2/3 and pour the mixture into a spray bottle. Spray areas frequented by spiders, and they won’t go close to those places anymore.
Remember! Although spiders may seem scary, they are very useful by killing harmful insects, so don’t kill them! If you don’t bother them, they won’t bother you either.
