The idea of the Solar Roadways has been developed for several years by now, and the prototypes are ready. Solar cell pavement has the great advantages of staying snow- and ice-free, and to emit light at night via LED lights. The panels are linked together in a serial grid, so if one panel burns out, the rest will be able to keep functioning.
