Chocolate covered sweet cheese sticks are delicious, and they can be bought in many flavors: natural, fruity or traditional. It can be covered in chocolate or chestnut puree.
If we make this delicacy at home, we can have a larger amount of it at a much lower cost. In addition, our version will not contain artificial ingredients and preservatives. Every member of the family can enjoy it except for babies less than 1 year of age.
Mix 250 g sweet cheese, 50 g powdered sugar, 50 g butter or margarine, 1 pack or vanilla sugar and the juice of half a lemon until the mixture turns creamy. Refrigerate it in the fridge for 1-2 hours, then shape it into 6-7 cm long and 2 cm diameter sticks and put the sticks back into the fridge.
Put the chocolate in a bowl, heat it over steam until soft, and dip the cheese sticks into the melted chocolate. Store them in the fridge until serving. The amount of cheese used makes about 8- 10 sticks. It is much cheaper to make them at home, and they don’t contain gluten and preservatives.
Here’s another way to prepare this delicacy: mix 250 g sweet cheese, 2 tablespoons powdered sugar, 1 package vanilla sugar, 2.5 tablespoons sour cream and some grated lemon peel. Dissolve 2 tablespoons of gelatin and add it to the mixture. Store the filling in the fridge for 1-2 hours, and then cover it in chocolate.
If you like fruit, you can add some pieces to the mixture. There are limitless options for flavoring and variations: you can also add chestnut or walnuts, you can cover the cheese in white chocolate etc.
