Bold Tastes – Carrot Jam

If you are bored of everyday flavors, try carrot jam that will turn simple bakery products into gourmet snacks.



• 1 kg fresh carrots
• 1 kg powdered sugar
• 4 lemons
• 1 handful almonds
• 3 tablespoons rum
• 1 orange


Clean the carrots; slice them thinly and place them in a pot. Pour enough water on the carrots to cover them, and cook them until completely soft. Crush the cooked carrots and put the puree in a big pot, and add sugar, the juices of the 4 lemons, the grated peel of 2 lemons, the crushed almonds, the rum and some grated orange peel. Bring the jam to a boil, and then pout it into jars. Close the jars, turn them upside down and steam them.
