A little over a year ago a spectacular series of pictures were published by a Russian photographer. The images went around the world in a few days for a good reason: Alexei Kljatov used a home-built camera to take super close-up shots of snowflakes.
Snowflakes probably intrigued people since the beginning of mankind. Even though now we know exactly how they are formed, this is not everything we are interested in – we want to see that special moment with our own eyes.
This is certainly the desire which inspired the stunning two minute long time-lapse video below, also created by a Russian artist, which captures the moment of water drops transforming into frozen crystals. Enjoy!
