These animals always represent a challenge for special studies due to their resemblance to humans. Both their intelligence and their feelings are uncontestedly demonstrated in the documentary.
In Rajasthan, India there’s a wonderful place where langur monkeys live in perfect peace. One day, this peace was interrupted by the appearance of a spy in the midst of a group of primates. The producers of the show Spying the Wild broadcast by BBC1, along with the several renowned researchers, wanted to see the reaction of the monkeys when they discover the presence of a new member.
The perfect camouflage of the robot monkey fooled the langurs, and as the stranger appeared, they tried to become friends with him. One of the monkeys even wanted to adopt him. However, as the fake monkey was moved, some unexpected events followed.
The robot monkey was accidentally dropped, which made the the langurs worried. As they started believing that the baby died, something extraordinary happened. One by one, all monkeys walked to the body, and mourned what they thought was a dead baby. The whole monkey colony kept silent, and suffering was plainly shown on their faces. It was as if they were participating at a wake, consoling each other and hugging their babies. The robot monkey created an incredible situation, in which the intensity of feelings are very palpable and touching.
