The famous French creamy chocolate mousse is a wonderful, sweet temptation, and it can be made even more delicious with a twist of orange.
Chocolate mousse is perfect if you don’t want to spend a lot of time making dessert, or if you don’t feel like turning on the oven. It is important to buy good quality chocolate for this dessert. Make it with organically grown oranges, so you can use the peels for a delicate and irresistible flavor.
Ingredients
- 250 g dark chocolate
- 2 eggs
- 2 tablespoons orange juice
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 100 ml cream
- 1 orange
Preparation
Break the chocolate into small pieces and melt over steam. Stir in the two types of sugar, the orange juice and grated zest of the orange.
Remove from the heat. Once the chocolate has cooled, add the egg yolks and mix well. Beat both the egg whites and the cream until stiff peaks form, then work them alternately into the mixture. Take care not to crush the whipped cream.
Transfer the creamy mixture into decorative glasses or bowls. Place in the fridge for at least two to three hours to set well. You can also sprinkle with grated orange zest when serving.
