Dandelion is one of the most powerful purifying plants that cleanses the body from toxins and eliminate excess water. Internally, dandelion purifies blood and stimulates the detoxifying action of the liver. As a result, it also cleanses and heals the skin.
Due to its detoxifying effect, dandelion tea helps treating several illnesses:
- Illnesses of the liver
- Digestive disturbances such as indigestion, hypo-acidic gastritis and constipation
- Diabetes
- Skin diseases
This plant treats mild and severe illnesses of the skin. Dandelion can also be used externally as a tonic or compress for the following:
- Acne
- Speckles
- Skin irritation
- Red spots on the face
- Eczema
- Warts
- Ringworm
Red spots on the face
Red spots and blotches that appear on the face are due to fragile blood vessels in the skin. Use 4-10 g dry dandelion leaves infused in 100 mL water for 10 minutes. Strain the tea and drink one cup three times a day. You may also use the infusion to wash off your face.
Eczema, boils, rashes
Add 1-2 teaspoons dried dandelion root powder to 1 cup boiling water. Boil for 5-10 minutes and then strain. Drink 1-2 cups of the infusion per day. You may also use this infusion to wash your eyes and hair.
Speckles, white spots on the cornea, clouding of the lens
You may use a fusion made from dandelion stalks, leaves and flowers. Cook 10 g of dandelion in a cup of water for 10 minutes. Strain twice and add half a teaspoon of salt. Apply on the affected area with a cotton swab.
Hemorrhoids, varicose veins, varicose ulcers, rashes, eczema
Make an infusion out of 3-5 g of dandelion roots. Boil 4 to 10 minutes in a cup of water. Drink 3 cups a day.
Warts, red spots, freckles, lesions
Use freshly squeezed dandelion root juice to treat the skin externally. After soaking a cotton swab in the juice and treating the affected area of the skin, clean the skin with dandelion infusion.
Hemorrhoids, varicose veins on the legs
Make infusion from 3-5 g of dandelion roots and one cup of water. Use the infusion in sitting baths.
Eczema, psoriasis, infected burns
Crush some dandelion leaves on a wood chopping board and apply them in a compress on the affected area.
Warts
Apply juice squeezed from dandelion roots on the affected area.
Rheumatic pain
Crush dandelion roots and then sauté with a small amount of sour cream. Apply to the painful areas and leave on for several hours. Use the remedy daily until the pain subsides.
