Coleslaw salad recipe

Coleslaw salad is a simple recipe made from cabbage and carrots, seasoned with a mayonnaise dressing, Worcestershire sauce, vinegar and honey. It is a very popular salad often served with fish or grilled meat.

Ingredients

For the salad

  • 500 g cabbage;
  • 2 – 3 carrots;
  • 1 red pepper (optional);
  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley leaves;

For the dressing

  • 100 g mayonnaise;
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar;
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce;
  • 1 tablespoon honey;
  • Salt to taste;
  • Pepper to taste;

Preparation

Clean the cabbage and remove any wilted, stained or broken leaves. Chop as finely as possible and transfer into a roomy bowl.

Clean the carrots and grate on a large-holed grater. Cut the red pepper into julienne stripes.

In a smaller bowl, mix the mayonnaise with a spoon of apple cider vinegar. Add the Worcestershire sauce. Add a spoonful of honey and salt and pepper to taste, trying to keep the balance between the sweet, sour and salty tastes.

Pour the dressing over the salad and mix well.
