It seems so simple, but it tends to cause problems – how to cook corn on the cob?

First of all buy smaller, tender cobs still covered with leaves. If you press the seeds, white liquid should come out. Some people boil corn for hours; the fact is, fresh corn should be fully cooked within 1/2 hour; if it doesn’t turn soft within this time, it won’t be soft in two hours either.

  • 8 ears of corn
  • Water

Preparation

Remove the leaves and the hairs, and cover the bottom of a pot with half of the leaves.
Place the ears of corn onto the leaves and cover them with the rest of the leaves.

Fill up the pot with water. Bring the water to theboiling point and cook the corn for 15-20 minutes. Pick off a seed to verify if they are cooked.

Remove the pot from the heat and leave it covered. Keep the corn in the water until ready to serve. Add salt only when serving.
