Cold buffet trays are much more enjoyable if you serve the components in a special way. Instead of just slicing up the food and placing it on the tray, you can shape various items in interesting ways to achieve an aesthetically much more appealing sight.
If you serve tomatoes in the following way, everybody’s appetite will be turned on for sure. You can create showy lotus flowers out of tomatoes in the matter of a minute.
First, choose a nice ripe, but not overripe tomato. Wash it and then cut a zigzag shape all the way around its side to obtain about 2 cm wide teeth.
After the cuts have gone all around, two flowers will be the result. With a sharp knife, make small incisions towards the bottom of the tomatoes, starting at each petal, and then remove the thin layer of skin.
That’s it, you are all done. To decorate the flowers, use a little parsley.
