The marketplace is full of piles of strawberries, so if you don’t grow strawberries in your garden, or they are not ripe yet, here’s a recipe to make strawberry jam from a small quantity of strawberries.
Ingredients:
- 700 g ripe, fresh strawberries
- 150 g brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 1 package vanilla powder
Preparation:
Wash the strawberries thoroughly, remove the leaves and cut the fruit into smaller pieces. Place the chopped strawberries into a pot, add the sugar, cover the pot and boil up the mixture, stirring from time to time. If white foam forms on top, remove it using a spoon.
You need to cook the strawberry and sugar only for about 10 minutes. Add the lemon juice and the vanilla during the last two minutes. After that, all you need to do is spoon the jam into jars and allow it to cool.
