The inspiration and creativity of cooks always give a personal touch to their dishes. When cooking blends harmoniously with art, the result is impressive; a good example of this is the delicious flower shaped dessert filled with hazelnut and cocoa cream.
Your friends will be impressed if you present them with such a desert. To take it step by step, first prepare a pastry out of 180 ml milk, 450 g flour, 7 g dry yeast, 30 g sugar, a pinch of salt, 2 egg yolks and 80 g butter. After kneading the dough, leave it to rise for about 30 minutes, until it doubles in volume.
Divide the dough into four equal parts. From each part, spread out a round sheet that fits the size of the baking tray. On each successive pastry sheet, except for the last sheet, spread a layer of hazelnut and cocoa cream or chocolate cream. Cut the excess dough off around the margin of the tray, place a glass in the middle and cut the dough from the center to the edge into 16 equal portions.
The last part is a test of skill because now you have to twist the “petals” of the flower twos by twos; as a result, the flower will turn star-shaped. All you have left to do is brush the dough with some egg whites and bake it in the oven at 180˚C for 25 minutes.
When you will place this golden brown and fluffy creation on the dinner table, your friends will compete to taste it, and for sure they will find it a delicious dessert.
