We all dream, but many of us have a problem: we can’t remember our dreams. Fortunately, there are a few tricks that can help refresh our memory.
Dreams usually occur every hour and a half, and they may last from several seconds to several minutes; some studies reveal they may even last for ten minutes.
If you have enough patience, you may try to keep a journal of your dreams. For a month, write down everything you can remember every day. Try to write down as many details as you can before the dreams disappear from your memory. After a month, read through the whole journal. You will be amazed by how many details you remembered, and you will learn a lot about what events and thoughts influence your dreams. Also, you can write down your own interpretations of the dreams.
If you can draw, keep a pencil and a notebook by the side of your bed. Right after you wake up, sketch a few drawings to illustrate what you have dreamed. Then, look at your sketches and try to put your dream together.
After you wake up in the morning, keep lying for a few minutes with closed eyes, and make an effort to remember as much of your dreams as possible. As soon as you start remembering them, concentrate on little details and try to recall them as vividly as possible.
