We have formed the wrong reflex if we tend to take a pill at the first sign of pain. We have too many pharmacies and too many cupboards crammed with too many drugs. What’s more, we are a nation of hypochondriacs, ready to dope ourselves with pills at the first sign that something is wrong.
Why shouldn’t we take a step back to see the big picture? There are plenty of symptoms that can be treated without medication. Whether we’re talking about mild pain or nausea and dizziness, among many other ailments, there are three methods of treatment without pills.
1. Acupuncture
When it comes to acupuncture, everyone thinks of needles stuck into the skin; what most people don’t know is that this process is painless and has no side effects – usually it results in tiny skin lesions that will disappear in a few days.
Acupuncture brings many benefits to the body by pressing reflex and energy zones. Otherwise, the basic idea of acupuncture is the release of stress and the energizing of the body.
Acupuncture treats all kinds of ailments, especially psychic ones. So, if you feel stressed, depressed, frustrated, sad and lacking energy or have insomnia, you can solve these problems with a few acupuncture sessions.
2. Aromatherapy
Aromatherapy is not necessarily the first tool you would use to improve your productivity and improve your business, but maybe you should try it sometime.
Why does it work? Because smell is the strongest of all five senses and it can influence brain activity the most. In anatomical terms, olfactory bulbs are a part of the limbic system, and they are directly connected to areas of the brain that process emotions and learning. Studies have shown that smell can trigger emotions that remind us of something or someone.
In case you have a headache, rub your temples and scalp with almond oil, coconut oil, lavender oil or peppermint oil; the pain will be relieved, and the tension will be released.
3. Reiki
It is a method of treating physical or emotional problems; it relies on touching and on a philosophy of natural healing. The Reiki method was discovered in the past century by Mikao Usui, a Japanese Buddhist monk who wanted very much to find a simple, gentle and complete treatment and healing.
He studied traditional Japanese medicine as well Western / allopathic medicine, and combined them with his studies of philosophy, religion and energy healing methods. Through intense practice he managed to integrate the spiritual, the energetic and the physical in a method he called “Usui Shiki Ryoho Reiki”. Today Reiki is a method of treatment practiced all over the world from hospitals to clinics, from spa centers to private practice.
