The lassi is a traditional East Indian food consisting of yoghurt, water and spices. It can be mixed with many kinds of fruits to obtain various flavor combinations. The following recipe uses almonds. It is the best to make almond milk first, and use the leftover dry paste to flavor the lassi. If you decide to use whole almonds, you will obtain lassi with a more intense flavor.
Ingredients for the flavoring base:
- 100 g dry almond paste
- 1 teaspoon emulsion
- 20-30 ml water, until you obtain a pasty mixture
Cover the container and store it in a warm pace overnight.
The following day you can mix the following ingredients together:
- 1 banana
- ¼ teaspoon ground cardamom
- Cinnamon and vanilla to taste
- A dash of salt
- 1-2 teaspoon honey to taste
Mix everything well to obtain a pleasantly sweet-and-sour, spicy drink. Enjoy!
