Red radishes for the urinary system – recipe and benefits

Radishes are related to other cruciferous vegetables such as cabbage, broccoli and cauliflower. These vegetables all have anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, detoxifying and anti-carcinogenic properties. They are rich in vitamin C, an antioxidant that prevents damage caused by free radicals, reduces the risk of cancer and inflammation and stimulates immunity.

Radishes also contain electrolytes, minerals, vitamins B and fiber. One of the most widely studied compounds in radishes, broccoli and cabbage is sulforaphane, which has been proven to provide protection against various types of cancer such as prostate, breast, colon and ovarian cancer. sulforaphane slows down the growth of cancerous tumors and it also has cytotoxic effects on malignant tumors.

Other important compounds in radishes are indoles, which act as detoxifying agents as well as the antioxidants Lutine, beta-carotene and zeaxanthin, which are beneficial for the eyesight.

Radishes stimulate the production of bile, help cleansing the blood, regulate the intestinal transit and prevent constipation.
