Low in fat and calories

Interestingly, in the 1930’s pomelo diet was popular among Hollywood stars due to an enzyme in its composition which melts fat. Pomelo, similar to grapefruit, is rich in fiber, providing 8% of the daily recommended allowance, and it not only helps in the proper functioning of the colon, but it also provides a feeling of satiety.

Source of Vitamin C

Citrus fruits are known for containing a lot of vitamin C and pomelo is no exception. Among other things, vitamin C fights infections and prevents heart attacks. Pomelo is particularly important for the heart, as it regulates blood pressure and removes fat deposited on the interior walls of blood vessels.

Rich in fiber

According to studies, pomelo has the ability to prevent colon cancer because of its active ingredients that inhibit the growth of diseased cells. Also, pomelo contains a significant amount of fiber, which aid in detoxifying the body, improving digestion and keeping organs healthy.

It maintains the health of the heart

Pomelo contains 410 mg of potassium per serving, which, like vitamin C, plays an important role in preventing heart disease. This essential mineral balances blood pressure. Rich in pectin, pomelo cleans arteries as well.

It delays aging

Pomelo contains antioxidants that delay the aging process and protect against chronic diseases. In addition, pomelo contains spermidine, a compound that helps to restore skin cells and slows aging.

It fights cancer

The skin of the fruit is rich in bioflavonoids that help prevent breast and pancreatic cancer by stopping the spreading of cancer cells.
