Below, you will find a recipe for completely natural ginger beer.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (200 g) peeled, thinly sliced fresh ginger roots
  • 1 cup (225 g) sugar
  • Several drops of lemon juice
  • ½ cup (115 ml) mineral water
  • 2 cups (450 ml) purified water
  • Lemon slice for decoration

Preparation

In a pot, boil up 2 cups of water and add the peeled and sliced ginger. Reduce the heat to medium and cook for 5 minutes. Remove the pot from the heat and allow the infusion to cool for 20 minutes, then strain it through a fine strainer.

Use another pot to prepare the syrup. Dilute 1 cup of sugar in 1 cup of water.

At serving, mix 1/2 ginger infusion with 1/3 cup syrup and 1/2 cup mineral water, and sweeten with 1-2 tablespoons honey. You may also add a few drops of lemon juice and decorate the glass with a slice of lemon.
