He wanted to build a garage, but the local council objected. His solution was brilliant

Eric Vekeman, a man originally from Zegelsem, Belgium, was forced to find an ingenious solution to build a garage for his car. He decided to build the garage after his wife’s grocery store was closed, but the city council decided that the construction will spoil the look of the city. Eric didn’t want to give up, and he managed to find a brilliant solution.

With the modest sum of 500 euros, Eric thought out a project to transform part of his wife’s store into a garage, and he has succeeded.

At first glance it seems that nothing has changed in the initial appearance of the store. However, at a closer look, as the huge window blinds rise and the garage window opens, we can see the parked car, as if in a shop window.

The bottom wall is removed the same way so that the façade is completely exposed. All that is left now is to find a solution to drive the vehicle out from the shop window in the street, which is quite easy for Eric.

Two small metal ramps are placed at the base of the wall, so the car can ascend and descend safely. Now nobody can reproach to Eric that his garage doesn’t fit the general style of the buildings in the area.
