Caramel-cinnamon baked apple recipe

Put your hand up if you would love to bite into a delicious caramel flavoured baked apple! Probably no one could resist a steaming, spicy, wonderfully scented dessert like this one. The video below presents the preparation of this homemade specialty.

Use a hand blender to mix the following ingredients:

  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar,
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon and
  • 1 1/4 tablespoons melted butter.

The next step is to peel 2 large apples, cut them in half and remove the seed pods. Cut the apples in halves as seen in the video. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees. Butter a baking pan, place in the apples and use a brush to glaze them with the sugar-cinnamon-butter mixture. Cover the pan with aluminum foil and bake the apples for 20 minutes.

While the apples are baking, prepare the following sauce:

  • Mix 2 tablespoons brown sugar,
  • 1 and 1/4 tablespoons melted butter,
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon,
  • 1 teaspoon flour,
  • a dash of salt and
  • 2 tablespoons oat flakes.

When you remove the apples from the oven, cover them in the sauce and bake them for 10 minutes more. Serve with a large scoop of vanilla ice cream.
