The uniqueness of this recipe is that the onion rings are grilled, breaded and then fried. The result will be crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside – an irresistible combination.
- 3 larger onions cut into slices
- 500 g bacon
For the breadcrumbs
- 1 cup semolina
- 1 cup flour
- Garlic powder
- A little beer
Preheat the grill. Roll two slices of bacon around each onion ring. Place the rings on the grill, and bake them thoroughly on both sides. Set them aside a little until they cool off, and then dip them into the mixture made from semolina, flour, salt, garlic powder and beer.
Fry the rings in hot oil until golden brown. You sure haven’t eaten a tastier snack these days.
